CNE Gaming Garage

L-R – Greg Miller, myself, my brother Justin, Andy Cortez, Tim Gettys

I haven’t been to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto in a very long time. So I decided to go this year, but not just for the outrageous junk food. I wanted to see the Gaming Garage. It actually started a few years previously, but this seems to be growing in popularity, and I hope it becomes a bigger part of the CNE.

When I was younger, I remember the years where SEGA brought the SEGA World Show to the CNE, showcasing the newest games for SEGA Genesis, Arcade, and Saturn. Afterwards you could go over to Ontario Place for the Nintendo World  Expo. That’s where I got to try out the Nintendo 64 for the 1st time, and see their newest arcade game Killer Instinct.

The Gaming Garage is a mix of esports tournaments, gaming community bazaar, talk panels, and retro arcades. I got to see my friend Greg Miller from Kinda Funny Games, host some panels with some local Toronto game developers. I got to hear from the likes of Ubisoft Toronto, Drinkbox Studios and CAPY Games.
