Masters of The Polygonal Universe: ArtStation Masterclass Games Edition

Back in August I decided to take part in ArtStation and Gnomon’s Masterclass training series. This masterclass dealt with art production for the gaming industry. I got to learn from artists from some of the top gaming studios in the world like Ubisoft Sofia, Guerilla Games, Sony Santa Monica Studios, Edios Montreal, Blizzard Games, and Naughty Dog.

The subjects covered keyframe concept art, conceptual character design, 3D sculpting, hard surface modeling, texture creation, and environmental design. Software covered were the likes of Maya, 3DS Max, Zbrush. I was familiar with some of them. This was first time I saw Substance Painter and Designer and Marmoset Toolbag in action. I was just awe inspired what these artists were creating with these 3D tools. 

I hope to start learning more 3D programs and creating my own kitbash set of models use for later projects.  While this was my 1st time learning from ArtStation’s masterclass series. If you’re looking to do a specific field of study I would definitely recommend these series from Gnomon.
